Support the Annual Fund Year-Round—Become an SNF “Monthly Maverick”

by Christina Uticone / Friday, 20 September 2019 / Published in Fundraising, Get Involved, Scholarships

Did you know you can show your support for the School Nutrition Foundation all year long, with just a few clicks? Sign up to make an automatic monthly donation to the Annual Fund and join our “Monthly Maverick” team. Visit the Donate Now! button on our website, select your donation amount and click “monthly,” then enter your payment information and voila—welcome to the Monthly Mavericks!

Giving Monthly

Your monthly donation to the Foundation helps support scholarships for fellow School Nutrition Association members like Mark Bordeau, Senior Director of Food Services of Broome-Tioga BOCES and president-elect of New York School Nutrition Association.

“Our job is education, and it’s always evolving,” said Mark. “We always need to be learning and keeping up with the latest trends. There are so many great education programs out there to help us do that. Whether it’s attending a conference or taking a certificate course online, there are many ways to grow yourself as a person and to do a better job—for yourself, your students, and your employer. Scholarships are a great way to do that in a formal way. Donating to the Foundation makes it all possible.”

About the Annual Fund

Established in 1964, the Annual Fund provides School Nutrition Association members with financial support for education and professional development, as well as research support and scholarships. Your individual contributions are used to assist your SNA colleagues with the skills, knowledge, and insight required to meet the challenges in providing nutrition and in developing healthy habits, so their students are well-nourished and prepared for academic success.

About SNF Scholarships

School Nutrition Foundation scholarships are available to School Nutrition Association members to help offset the cost of education, professional development, and conferences. If you’ve always wanted to go back to school, or attend a national conference, Foundation scholarships can help—if you apply.

“Apply, apply, apply!” said Bordeau. “You have just as good a chance of winning as anyone else. If you don’t get it the first time, try again!”
